How to Connect Your Bridge When Routers Combine 2.4GHz and 5GHz Wi-Fi

Some modern routers automatically switch between 2.4GHz and 5GHz Wi-Fi.
Because the bridge only connects to 2.4GHz, this automatic switching can prevent it from pairing or staying connected.
This is common with routers from providers such as Virgin Media and other dual-band systems.
Option 1 – Temporarily Disable 5GHz During Setup (Recommended)
This method works for many users.
Log in to your router settings and temporarily switch Wi-Fi to 2.4GHz only
Open the app and add the bridge from the main TTLock app menu (Three lines in the top right-hand corner of the main screen)
Do not add it from the lock settings menu
Wait a few minutes to confirm the bridge is connected
Re-enable automatic 2.4GHz + 5GHz
Check the bridge status again in the Gateway screen
If it still shows connected, setup is complete.
Option 2 – Use a 2.4GHz Range Extender
If your router cannot separate bands, you can connect the bridge through a 2.4GHz-only extender.
Important requirements:
Must broadcast 2.4GHz only
Avoid extenders that combine 2.4GHz and 5GHz
These are widely available from retailers such as Amazon and similar stores.
Option 3 – Use a Wired Gateway Instead
If wireless stability is difficult to achieve, a wired gateway can be used.
If you were supplied with a wireless gateway, it may be possible to return it and exchange it for a wired version through Simpled.
If the bridge does not stay connected:
Restart the router and the bridge
Confirm the bridge is connected to a 2.4GHz network only
Try the setup again using one of the methods above
If the issue continues, contact support and include your router model and bridge type.
