A Wi-Fi Bridge is not required to use your smart lock.
The lock can operate normally using Bluetooth when you are near the door.
However, adding a Wi-Fi Bridge enables remote control when you are away from the lock.
What You Can Do Without a Wi-Fi Bridge
Using Bluetooth (when you are within range of the lock), you can:
Lock and unlock the door using your smartphone or smartwatch
See who has accessed the lock using your smartphone
Review access logs stored by the lock
Share keys with family members, friends, cleaners, or other trusted people
Limit or remove access permissions at any time
All of these functions work when you are near the lock and connected via Bluetooth.
What a Wi-Fi Bridge Adds
With a Wi-Fi Bridge connected, you can also:
Lock or unlock the door from anywhere
View lock activity remotely, including fingerprints and passcode use
Generate and share passcodes remotely
Connect the lock to voice assistants such as Alexa or Google Home
These features work even when you are NOT physically near the lock.
Key Point
Bluetooth only: Full local control when you are near the lock
With Wi-Fi Bridge: Remote control, remote logs, and smart home integration
A Wi-Fi Bridge is recommended if you want to manage the lock while away from the property.
