Why do none of the unlocking methods work from the inside?
Applied to the DFF Double-Sided Lock
Original HubSpot URL: https://learn.simpled.uk/why-do-none-of-the-unlocking-methods-work-from-the-inside
If none of the unlocking methods (fingerprint, passcode, etc.) work from the inside panel of your DFF lock, this is typically due to the inside lock not being set up in the app. This is expected behavior for double-sided locks.
Cause
In a DFF double-sided lock:
The inside and outside panels operate as separate locks
Each panel must be added and configured individually in the app
Unlocking methods assigned to the outside lock do not transfer to the inside lock
Result
If the inside panel has not been added to the app, it will not recognize any unlocking methods, even if they work on the outside.
Solution: Add and set up the inside lock
Follow the steps below to properly configure the inside panel:
Step-by-step instructions
Open the TTLock app
Tap Add Lock
Select All Locks
Activate the inside lock’s Bluetooth by touching the fingerprint scanner
Wait for the lock’s serial number to appear in the app
Select the lock and proceed with adding it
Rename the lock (e.g., “Inside Lock”) to avoid confusion
Reassign all required unlocking methods (fingerprints, passcodes, etc.)
Important notes
The inside and outside locks are completely independent
Each lock must be managed separately within the app
Any updates or changes must be applied to both locks individually
If the issue persists after completing these steps, please contact support with details of your setup.
